Jim Thompson has served the Oconee Area as a Licensed Realtor, Broker of his own agency, a Georgia Licensed Appraiser, and a pioneer on Lakes Oconee and Sinclair. While teaching school and selling real estate on Lake Sinclair from 1978, Jim became a full time REALTOR® in 1980 and sold his first lot on Lake Oconee in 1982...a 2 acre lakefront lot, by the way, which sold for $14,000.00 and was then divided into two lake lots. "YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT THEN", is a phrase that is often repeated to his previous customers.

 

A charter member of the Lake Oconee Realty Association, Jim was one of the first four fulltime REALTORS® on Oconee, and has seen incredible growth and development in the area. As a consistent multi-million dollar producer, he has also found time to serve his local board of REALTORS® in various offices and committees. In 2001, Jim was inducted into the Lake Country Board of REALTORS® HALL OF FAME, as the fifth person in the Board’s history to be so honored.
